Problem Statement / Needs Assessment

Community Context
Cazucá, Soacha, located on the outskirts of Bogotá, is one of the most vulnerable regions in Colombia. The community faces high levels of poverty, displacement, and exposure to violence. Limited access to quality education, safe recreational spaces, and basic services continues to restrict opportunities for children and families.
Impact on Children and Families
Children growing up in this context face significant barriers to their development. Many are at risk of school dropout, recruitment by illegal groups, and exposure to abuse and neglect. Without consistent support, these challenges often perpetuate cycles of poverty and limit long-term opportunities for children and families.
Why Intervention is Needed
Addressing these challenges requires more than isolated interventions. Children need consistent, holistic support systems that provide stability, mentorship, education, and safe environments. Community-based programs like i58 Movement play a critical role in bridging this gap—offering not only services, but long-term relationships and pathways for growth.
